Hillary Clinton Deleted Some Confidential Emails on a Private Server, but Is that a Huge Deal?

Hillary Clinton may have deleted some emails that were in fact confidential through use of a private server, but is that really the worst thing about her? Legally, it is perhaps a bit of a problem, but is it a huge issue morally-speaking? My position is that it is, and mostly isn't, which I will explain in the following paragraphs.

For starters, yes, she arguably should not have done what she did. Aside from the legal implications, government officials as important as her need to try their best to make sure their digital communication is as secure as possible. For instance, in the article below, it shows that even government computers can and have been hacked. Government computers are supposed to be more secure, so imagine the even higher riskiness of using a private computer.

Secondly, no, it is not horrible, as noted by the article posted right below here. The reality is that most of her emails were not classified and most of those that were were only classified after the fact, as confirmed in the second link below. Also, as previously noted, government servers are not totally immune to security breaches either. Therefore, the moral difference between using a private server and a public server is arguably not very big. Furthermore, it is worth noting that other politicians, including Republicans such as Colin Powell, have used private servers for such things and Powell even once advised Clinton to use a private server, as also shown in the second link below.

It should additionally be noted that as shown in links from above, Clinton was ultimately determined to have done something she should not have done, but she was not found guilty of any serious offenses. Of coarse, the legality of something does not necessarily determine the morality of something, but to say that she committed any serious crimes with regards to the emails is unfounded. She should have used a public server to better ensure that she was in compliance with the law and such, but that does not mean that she committed a felony or anything like that by doing what she did.

There are arguably things that make Clinton not ideal and that she should be criticized for. For instance, according to the article linked below, she voted for the Iraq war. Overall, war is not something people should support unless it is a last resort against a country that is openly attacking us. However, for the reasons given above, the email issue is the least of her issue, from my perspective.
